When Lost Mode is activated, your Galaxy SmartTag2 can be read by another Galaxy smartphone using NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. Your SmartTag2 will then display your contact details and recorded message on the smartphone. If someone finds your object with the SmartTag2 on it, all they have to do is flash it via their smartphone, and they can contact you to return it.
